Stubby Buddy Guide

We here at Stubby Buddy know that choosing the right cage can be daunting, especially with so many options to choose from. This guide will provide you with the necessary information to pick the right Buddy. Do not forget all Stubby Buddy cages and rings are interchangeable so you can always upgrade or change your Stubby Buddy later. *note parts are not interchangeable between Stubby Buddy and Chubby Buddy, if you have a Stubby Buddy ring but want a bigger Chubby Buddy cage you would have to purchase a new Chubby Buddy ring.

Stubby Buddy Cages explained:

All Stubby Buddy cages currently only come in one size, but there is 4 different cage styles to choose from

Stub - The Original Buddy is made for long term wear, while restrictive it still allows you some room to grow and the open sides make repositioning and cleaning a cinch.

Enclosed - This one shares a similar profile to the Stub but instead seals up the openings in the cage further restricting and providing an anti-touch barrier.

Button - The next size down this cage is for the smoller individuals or those looking for a bit of a challenge.

Null -  When small isn't enough the Null is here. This inverted cage is truly an experience to have. Note: Due to the reduced internal space on sub 45mm rings the null cage is particularly difficult to install on those rings.

We highly recommend the Stub for first time users or those looking for the best long term cage but many of our users are happy to lock up for extended time in our other cages.

Stubby Buddy Rings explained:

Stubby Buddy Ring Infographic

We have spent many hours obsessing over ring shape and size so you can have the perfect fit. We currently have two main ring shapes to choose from.

Slim - Slim rings are a slight oval ring with the point towards the bottom.

Wide - Wide rings instead of closing to a point towards the bottom open up increasing the avalible space.

All Stubby Buddys feature a prominent ball splitter. But fear not his is not a CBT device, the ball splitter is much less obtrusive than it looks, and should only serve to enhance your experience. Ball splitters help with presentation and comfort as well as act as anti-pull out aids. We currently have two splitter styles to choose from.

Standard - The standard splitter is great, its not to obtrusive, provides support and utility to your experience

Low Profile - The low-pro splitter is for those looking for a bit of extra restriction, not only is it smaller than the standard but it alters the position of your cage to decrease the ball gap and provide a more secure and restrictive ball trap.

Ring size refers to the internal diameter of the ring and is a relatively standard way to sizing the base ring for chastity cages. Most users who have bought other cages will know which size they need, but if your a first time cager you may still be a bit confused on which size is right.

The quickest way to determine your size is with a section of non-stretchable rope or cord. When soft wrap it around the root and tighten it until the surrounding skin is compressed but you are still able to easily slip 1 finger into the loop, mark where the rope meets and measure it to find you ring circumference and you can divide that number by 3.14 to get your ring diameter which is the number all Stubby Buddy rings are sized around. Many users will find a perfect size over time from experience as even with the most diligent sizing it is easy to be off by a few mm. You may also repeat the process when hard, and take an average of the two sizes to better narrow down a comfortable size for growers or others.

One of many ways you can test fit various sizes is by taking cardboard and cutting a circle of the diameter you want to test out of it 2 or 3 times, and stacking and taping the internal edges of all those pieces of cardboard together. This will allow a temporary fit to check how that size of ring could fit. Ideally you want the ability to fit 2 finger through the top of the ring while soft and a tight enough fit while hard that you cannot escape but not tight enough that it overly restricts blood flow.

Ordering Explained:

Once you've decided on what Stubby you would like to order you can choose your production method, we offer several different ways to obtain a Stubby Buddy depending with pros & cons to each. All methods are the fundamentally the same cage just with different means of production.

Custom made orders Explained:

Stubby Buddy customs are how we started up, they are resin printed to order sanded and post processed with a durable epoxy coating. While these are the most expensive way to obtain a Stubby Buddy they do result in unique cages with colourful and sparkly paintjobs. Because of the manual process of processing customs they have the highest processing time of all methods at 15-25 business days.

Customs are ideal for those users who are confident in which Buddy they will want to wear and want to make it a truly unique cage.

Technical details on Stubby Buddy Custom colours and outcomes:

Stubby Buddy's have two major factors in their resulting appearance, the base print colour and the epoxy colour. The base print colour is altered by adding liquid dyes to the resin basin containing a white or grey plastic resin changing the resulting print into the desired colour. The epoxy colour is created by adding colored Mica powder to the epoxy during the application step.

For the most part your resulting finished appearance or colour will be the combination of both methods as the Epoxy step even when filled with a dark colour is still semi transparent. So a blue print with pink epoxy will mostly result in a pink/purple presenting cage due to colour mixing. Matching your print colour to your epoxy colour will result in the most stable and uniform colour.

In some cases, particularly dark base print colours like black and an epoxy colour of pink/blue/purple the base black will overpower the colour of the epoxy coating, particularly around the edges of the print resulting in a somewhat two coloured cage where the edges can appear dark or fully black and larger unbroken faces will adopt a colour more appropriate to the epoxy coating colour. While this affect is unavoidable in these circumstances it can be quite appealing as it allows for subtle colour differences in the cage without cost of one of our specialty customs packages.

Our epoxy finish is what sets our Customs apart. This coating consists of a standard 2 part epoxy resin that covers the exposed parts of the print providing a barrier for skin contact and structurally reinforcing the parts. Because of the liquid application of 2 part epoxy and the use of mica powder pigments(which do not dissolve into the epoxy) the epoxy colouring itself is not perfectly even due to the effects of gravity during the curing process. This can result in pigment build up in inside edges(particularly where a cage bar connects to the cage body) or streaks/spots of high or low concentration of colour on the print. We have a method of rotational cureing which minimizes these effects but they cannot fully removed.

What colours are avalible for custom orders?

Print colour: White, Black, Pink, Blue and Transparent & custom mix's of other colours.

Epoxy colour: Black, Pink, Purple, Blue, Violet(colour shift), Blue(colour shift), Plum(colour shift), Cyan(colour shift), Galaxy(colour shift), Green(colour shift), Fuschia(colour shift), Gold(colour shift), Green(glow in the dark), Teal(glow in the dark), Blue(glow in the dark)

Most of these colours can be mixed together to create new colour combinations on request. Due to limitations in our processes we cannot guarantee colour accuracy for any colour matching or mixing requests. We will however do our best.

Should you have any further questions or concerns regarding our customs process please contact us via the Contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Nylon SLS prints Explained:

Forgelabs is a Powdered Bed Fusion plastic printing supplier we use to get the cheapest price but highest quality prints possible.

We keep all cages in all colours and most of the black rings in stock locally at all times and any orders containing parts we have in stock ship within 2 business days. But we don't have all ring sizes in stock at all times especially for the colored variants. Orders containing any parts that aren't kept in stock are special ordered on the 1st, 11th and 21st of each month and have 5-10 business day production time from that order date until shipment.

Forgelabs prints are best suited for those looking to experiment with a Stubby Buddy without the large time/money investment of a Custom. SLS parts are also more resistant to impact damage due to they nylon based plastic.

Nylon SLS print Post-processing:

Nylon SLS prints are offered as raw prints, this means they have not undergone any post processing such and sanding. While both of these are made via powdered bed printing methods that produce a clean and precise print their finish may still be slightly irritating to some skins. If you find this to be the case we suggest you follow our post processing guide to improve the surface finish of the parts.

Shapeways offers a Premium plastic variant, that while more costly will smooth the product prior to shipping to you.

Custom orders are both sanded and an ultra smooth epoxy coating is applied which further smooths the cage and as such should not need any post-processing.

Equipping Stubby Buddy:

Once you've acquired your cage you may be wondering the best method to equip it. While everyone's method of squeezing's into a cage may differ the basic process is as follows. Pull your testicle through the ring, take care to slide them into position between the ball splitter afterword's slide the shaft under the right and pull the ring tight to your skin. You should take a moment afterwards to check the orientation of everything and confirm it will be comfortable before proceeding.  Then put the cage on the top of your shaft-pinching the foreskin positioning the cage and letting it spring into place is a effective method for growers and people with foreskin- after slide the hinge piece into the splitter and rotate it into the locked position, take care you don't pinch the skin so use a finger slipped in from behind under the main ring and into the cage to act as a barrier between your skin and the closing cage. Afterwards you just slide your lock core into place turn the key and you are all set!

Null tips: center the null as best as you can on the head, lining up the holes. Then push it into your body with a lose finger grip on the shaft so that the foreskin reaches around the shaft of the Null. Once you've reached sufficient depth push the hinge into position and slowly lower it, be very careful as to not pinch skin. You can tug at the skin from behind the ring to pull any foreskin away from the closing mechanisms but ideally you want as much skin on the shaft as possible to provide the greatest hold.

Q: Are Stubby Buddies "Body Safe"
A: The quick answer is yes in almost all circumstances they are body safe. We encourage you to read our "Body Safe Guide" to fully understand the nuances of body safe chastity cages.

Q: Can I wear the "Stub" long term?
A:Yes! The "Stub" was specifically designed for long term use. The relatively open cage makes cleaning a breeze.

Q: I'm pretty small/a grower, will the "Stub" fit me?
A:Yes! The "Stub" is designed for smaller individuals and growers primarily. The entrance to the cage is narrower than the cage itself which holds you in place to help prevent accidental pullouts due to small flaccid size. Overall the "Stub" is a small and fits most average/below average individuals well.

Q: I'm pretty big, Will the "Stub" fit me?
A: Probably! Most people will be able to squeeze in without issue, however for those with a little extra in terms of length you can purchase the "Stubby Buddy Collar" which is a add on that increases the internal length of the cage by 10mm per collar.

Q: Is the "Null" cage suitable for long term wear?
A: Probably not. The "Null" is meant primarily as a short term or play time cage. Smaller individuals may find long term wear possible, but it is entirely dependent on anatomy. Either way using the bathroom while wearing the "Null" is not a quick and easy affair.

Q: I'm pretty big, will I be able to wear the "Null" for short term/play sessions?
A: Most likely but how comfortable it will be is entirely dependent on anatomy. A quick test you can do is while flaccid use two fingers to push you penis completely inside your body. With your fingers holding pressure try to get aroused without allowing your penis to grow externally. This will give you a vague idea of how the "Null" may feel for you.

Q: Do Stubby Buddy cages support the use of waist harnesses?
A:Yes! In fact they are highly recommended. All SB cages have two mounting holes on the top and bottom of the ring to allow you to pass a section of rope(recommend thinner diameter 10mm'ish bondage rope) through to tie a rope around your waist to support the top of the ring and another rope that passes under between you legs to further tighten the bottom half of the cage to your skin.

Q: How durable are Stubby Buddy cages?
A: A lot of time and effort has been put into making the cage and ring as strong as possible, and while they do hold up to regular use and abuse they are after all a 3d printed plastic cage and can break if put under to much stress.

Q: If my cage breaks will you replace it?
A: If the cage breaks within the first two weeks I will offer to remake and reship the broken part at no cost. If it breaks beyond that time frame I will instead offer you a discount on your next order. Please report all failures regardless of your desire to seek a replacement, it provides me critical data in further improving durability.

Q: Can I purchase the stl files and print my own device?
A: Stubby Buddy stl files are not freely or commercially available and their is no immediate or future intent to make them so. While we welcome DIY'ers and make many of our unique methods public knowledge so DIY'ers and other like minded cage makers can follow in our footprints we do have to keep a tight lid on our proprietary design files in order to sustain our business model and further the development of our products.

Q: I run a twitter/Instagram/etc page and would love to show off your products, do you offer free review samples?
A: At this time we do not offer and free or price reduced samples to influencers.

Q: Do you or will you ever offer urethral tubes for your cages?
A: No. Sounding is already a bit risky outside of a cage but once you combine them the risk is much much greater and not something we feel comfortable putting on the market.

Q: I want to get a custom badge, is their anything you can't put on them?
A: Two lines of 5 characters fits comfortably. Sometimes I can fit 6-8 characters on one line and 5 or less on the second. Any images or text phrase requests that are are deemed obscenely inappropriate will be denied and could result in the loss of the ability to purchase from CSB in the future. Keep it legal and keep it respectful to all race/genders.

Q: Is Stubby Buddy Escape Proof?
A: As much as I would like to say yes, the reality of chastity cages apposed to chastity belts is for the vast majority of users you will be able to squirm and wiggle yourself out of confinement if you try hard enough. Usage of attachments like the Invader and Low Profile ring can increase the security of the device and prevent some accidental and purposeful escapes.

Q: Are your packages shipped discreetly?
A: For resin and SLS prints they are shipped via a plain black box with our shipping label on it, and custom declaration is 3d printed jewelry. We do not add any additional markings/stickers to the exterior of our packages than legally necessary.

Q: Where will my order ship from?
A: Resin and SLS print orders will ship from CSB in Alberta Canada to most nations world wide.

Q: You don't ship to my location :(
A: I've attempt to include all countries that are viable to ship to a few countries fall outside this scope unfortunately. You can always contact us and we will double check to see if its possible to open up into your market.

Q: My order didn't come with a lock? / Why do you charge for locks?
A: Stubby Buddy cages are built to use a quite common lock used in the vast majority of chastity devices. Because of this, and the fact that Stubby Buddy primarily focuses on selling devices to chastity enthusiasts who more often than not already have multiple of these locks on hand we decided to move them to their own listing to reduce waste. If you do not already have a lock, you may purchase one from here.

Q: Can I send you a picture wearing my cage?
A: I would very much prefer it if you don't. I cannot verify your age and there for cannot recieve private illicit photographs from you. Your free to post your pictures on twitter or reddit though.
